Partagria is an export and investment platform to enable farmers in West Africa to improve yields and quality of output, and connect them to global markets. We accomplish this goal through the following key mechanisms: - Accompany farmers in their production by providing crop planning, agricultural expertise, harvest practices training and co-financing of inputs (seeds, fertilizer, etc.) - Selection, calibration and packing of produce to international standards in conditioning centers - Logistics and export direct to overseas clients via sea or air links - Creating a financial instrument allowing individual impact investors to invest in African farmers We generate significant economic and social impact for the rural areas we work with through both creation of new conditioning center jobs and enabling local farmers to become better entrepreneurs to participate in the global economy. We created the first operating unit created in the region near the cities of Saint-Louis and Richard Toll in Senegal, in addition to products being sourced directly from producers. As we add customers, we will replicate the model with operating units in other regions of Senegal, each with local managers and agronomists, logistics capabilities, and processing centers. We plan to operate over 500 hectares of farmland in partnership with Senegal’s agricultural communities by the end of 2017.
