Parkway West Band Information

Parkway Central Music Parents Association is a parent support organization whose goals include volunteer support and monetary assistance for the Parkway Central High School music department. The Music Parents has functioning subcommittees for each of the individual performing ensembles and special departmental projects. The Music Parents provides crucial support for a number of special projects, performances and activities which would not be possible otherwise. This extraordinary organization is responsible for much of the excellence of our department. The governing board meets regularly throughout the year and represents all of the PCHS music performing ensembles. We have a music department endowment fund which is supervised by the MPA. We have been the recipient of memorial donations from several generous patrons. We also have a "Have a Seat" memorial program to improve and maintain the PCHS theater facility. We have also been the grateful recipients of gifts such as an upright piano and stereo equipment. Please consider a donation via the endowment fund or the "Have a seat program". Donations toward season tickets and simple cash donations of any amount can make the world of difference; please consider one. Music Parents sponsors several departmental fund raisers such as the annual fall citrus sale. Proceeds from this and other fund raisers go directly to benefit the students enrolled in the music program. Music Parents funds have provided stereo equipment, library and uniform storage, special clinicians and technology assistance. Music Parent volunteers assist with concert ticket sales, ushers, concert receptions, uniform management office work, computer assistance and a host of other duties.
