Parents as Teachers Guilford County is a Blue Ribbon Affiliate of a national program that provides parenting education and support to families throughout pregnancy until their child turns five. Our focus is on encouraging parent/child interactions, understanding child development’s impact on child behavior and strengthening the family as a whole. This information sharing and skill development happens through home visits, group connections, screenings and resources. We partner with families to build supportive relationships that empower families to prepare their children to enter school ready to learn, ready for life. Our mission is to provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life
