VAST is dedicated to developing economically viable and socially responsible alternatives to concrete for the green building construction market. It has invented and patented material science and manufacturing technology to create a composite material that is one-third the weight of concrete — made almost entirely from recycled scrap tires and recycled plastics. VAST was acquired by AZEK Building Products (a subsidiary of CPG International) in December 2012.
