PAFA offers expertise on structures such as docks, bridges, tunnels, wind turbines, ships and flood-defence barriers. PAFA can design fixed, floating and dynamically responsive new structures; review designs of new and modified structures; and design modifications to plant - within dock yards or nuclear power stations, for example. We also have current experience in naval architecture, boat design & harbour engineering. PAFA undertakes reliability assessments to calibrate designs and/or design methods against probabilities of failure. PAFA can advise on weather-restricted operations, either in design or for construction operations; prediction of installation weather windows; or commercial evaluation of down-time throughout a life-cycle. Active Membership of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators enables us to act as Arbitrators assisting in the resolution of commercial and industrial disputes. Unlike most other small consultancies, PAFA combine fee-based work with a considerable amount of Research & Development. As well as having representation on international bodies such as the ISO and the BSI.
