Western Horseman is an equestrian magazine rooted in the traditions of western horsemanship. From its humble beginnings in 1936, the magazine has always been published for those who own and use western horses for work and recreation. Today, more than 165,000 subscribers and newsstand buyers receive Western Horseman each month, and they read it and share it with thousands of other horse enthusiast friends and family members.
Our editorial mission is to educate, entertain and inspire our readers by publishing original, authoritative content on a wide variety of topics including training, horse care, ranching, recreational riding, rodeo, tack and equipment.
Our readers share a passion for western stock horses but they do not always share the same interests. For example, some of our readers use their horses for trail riding; others use them ranch work, others use them primarily for competition. In order to reflect the diverse interests of our readers, we¹ve organized our editorial content that encompass all of these interests and uses.
The Chronicle of the Horse published its first edition in 1937 and remains the industry leader in news coverage of national and international sport horse competitions. Through our print magazine, digital lifestyle magazine and web coverage we offer everything from competition results to compelling features and thought-provoking commentary.
