Clay Behavioral Health Center provides behavior management services through contractual arrangements with Clay County Schools, to help behaviorally disturbed children and teens function better. The students participating in this program are enrolled in Clay County elementary and secondary schools. The students are in the Emotionally Behavioral Disturbed Classroom setting and have had a referral into the program by the Exceptional Student Education Department with the Clay County School District. The program offers parents to opportunity for their child to receive on site counseling services to address their behavior and/or emotional needs. Behavior management services are designed to provide on-site assistance in the school by qualified Clay Behavioral staff. Current behavioral patterns are assessed and alternative interventions are recommended to parents/guardians and teachers. If a child is identified as needing more intensive services that are not able to be provided on site at the school then a referral is made to the Outpatient Mental Health Department at CBHC.

Coles County Mental Health Association, Inc. (dba LifeLinks Mental Health) is a 501 (c) 3 private not-for-profit corporation which was chartered in 1965 to design and deliver high quality, cost effective, outpatient mental health services oriented toward consumer recovery and responsive to the needs of the consumers, their families, and the community. During our 50 year history in Coles County our service offerings have expanded to meet community needs and now include a full array of outpatient and support services for children, adolescents, adults and families including crisis intervention, assessment, counseling and therapy services, case management, psychiatric and nursing service as well as psychosocial rehabilitation day treatment and residential services for adults with serious mental illness. Annually we serve approximately 3000 individuals, including 800 children.
