Easterseals empowers people to live independent, full lives.
We make a lasting difference in the lives of 1.5 million people each year by providing essential services to children and adults with disabilities, older adults, veterans, and their families. Our national network of 70 Affiliates is trusted to provide programs customized to meet the needs of each community we serve from coast-to-coast—trust earned for more than 100 years. We positively shape perceptions and address the evolving needs of more than one in four Americans with disabilities through public education, policy, and advocacy. That’s our impact. In thousands of communities across America.
WHO WE ARE:
Hope Network is a non-profit organization operating across the state of Michigan. We have 240 locations and serve over 34,000 people with disabilities or disadvantages each and every year.
WHAT WE DO:
We help people overcome physical, mental or social barriers that impact how they live. The result is fulfillment through independence, progress, and community integration. Whether it’s…
…a dad recovering from a brain injury
…a child growing up with autism
…an ex-offender trying to re-enter society
…a teenager battling depression
We have countless stories of restoration to tell.
HOW WE DO IT:
For over 60 years, we’ve provided neuro rehabilitation, behavioral healthcare, developmental support services, autism services, community support, and more. We do this because we believe every person was created to live life to the fullest – no matter their age, no matter their background, no matter what’s holding them back.
WHY IT MATTERS:
60 million people in the U.S. suffer from disabilities or disadvantages that impact how they live. Over one million of these people live in Michigan. To put it into perspective, that’s more than the population of Detroit.
A majority have fallen through the cracks and aren’t receiving the care they deserve. That’s a problem – but we’re solving it by being advocates for these people.
