XSci is a preprint platform. Post a manuscript and it is public at once, with a permanent identifier, before any review has run. What is different is what happens next: every paper here can carry its own public record of scrutiny. Authors choose which AI reviewers to run, from a set of independent systems brought together in one place. Reports come back in minutes to hours and are published beside the paper, each labelled with the name of the system that produced it. Publishing a report is heavily discounted, and in many cases free. Keeping one private costs the full price. Authors who want more can request review by paid domain experts. Peer certification is reserved for this, and it means a qualified human has read the paper and stands behind the assessment. It is optional, a distinction a paper can earn rather than a gate it must pass to exist. Reviewers are matched by subject expertise, invited from the authors of cited work, their close collaborators, and researchers publishing in the journals the authors are aiming at. They are paid for their time, and a judgement stands as written, whatever it says. Authors can answer any review, human or machine, in public and at no cost. Reading requires nothing. No account, no institutional login, no paywall. That includes the reviews. We do not charge authors to publish, and no paper is more visible here because someone paid for it. Our revenue comes from review services. Our mission is to make the validation of science as open, as fast, and as fairly rewarded as its production. XSci was founded by Shumiao Ouyang, Associate Professor of Finance at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
