Oxbelly Information

Oxbelly, “Voidokoilia” in Greek, is named after a nearby beach in Messinia, featured in Homer’s The Odyssey, where the first written account of hospitality in the western world took place. It is in this very culture, where storytelling meets hospitality that Oxbelly was founded, in 2015 by Christos V. Konstantakopoulos of Faliro House. Oxbelly aims to foster creativity and to strengthen creative economies through global collaborations. For the last ten years, the organization has held leading international writers’ programs in film, television and literature through the annual Oxbelly Retreat, while supporting the burgeoning Greek film industry. The organization also develops year-round initiatives aimed to strengthen creative economies. Recent expansions include the Oxbelly Ambassadors program, which seeks to devise cross-border film financing pathways, and includes programmatic partnerships with LocarnoPro and the Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes.
