There is something powerful about hearing the voice behind the journey. That is why I created Outstanding Voices. In the education, skills, and apprenticeship sector, we often celebrate outcomes — grades, achievement rates, inspection results, growth, and innovation. But behind every outstanding provider, every successful learner, and every high-performing organisation, there are people. People with stories, challenges, setbacks, lessons, and moments that shaped the path they walked. Outstanding is a word synonymous with excellence within the education sector. But excellence does not happen by accident. It is built through leadership, resilience, courage, reflection, and a willingness to keep learning — even when the road is uncomfortable. Outstanding Voices has been created to bring those voices to the table. This podcast is about honest conversations with leaders, innovators, and professionals who have dedicated themselves to raising standards, creating opportunities, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of others through education and skills. It is also a personal challenge. I enjoy being uncomfortable, because discomfort often creates growth. Launching this podcast has already pushed me beyond familiar territory. It has presented challenges I had not considered, but I will learn along the way — just as I hope listeners will too. But it will be authentic. And as they say — done is better than perfection.
