Outside the Frame provides year-round, free, high-quality filmmaking and career development for over 100 unhoused and marginalized youth (ages 16–30) annually in the Portland/Tri County area. Participants—most of whom are LGBTQ, BIPOC, disabled, and experiencing housing insecurity—gain creative, educational, and job opportunities, breaking cycles of poverty. Many have gone on to work for Netflix, Nike, and HBO or launched their own businesses. Outside the Frame films are powerful and award-winning, resonating with diverse communities and reshaping the film industry.
