Outpst is an Aspen-born outdoor brand built around adventure, exploration, and community. Our mission is simple: inspire people to get outside, explore more, and experience the outdoors for themselves. Just like an outpost in the wild, we serve as a gateway to deeper exploration — a place where stories begin. Founded in October 2023 by Cooper Johnson in a college apartment at the University of Colorado, Outpst was reborn from a high school side project that never fully let go. After being gifted a sewing machine and teaching himself to make fleece hats through trial, error, and YouTube, Cooper launched the first batch. They sold quickly. What started as a side project became something real. Today, Outpst operates on a drop-based model, releasing limited collections tied to places, experiences, and causes that matter to our community. Many drops partner with nonprofits or local organizations, with some donating 100% of profits to the story behind the product. We prioritize remnant fabrics and mill ends to reduce waste, giving new life to materials that would otherwise go unused. Through initiatives like the Brimmer Bracket, we invite our community into the design process — because we’re building a brand for the people, by the people. Rooted in the mountains of Aspen, Colorado, Outpst isn’t just gear. It’s a platform for storytelling, connection, and making the outdoors more accessible to everyone.
