The Outer Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network (OELLEN) is a not for profit incorporated association covering the local government areas of City of Knox, the City of Maroondah and the Shire of Yarra Ranges. The Victorian Government, through the Department of Education and Training, (DET), has funded the LLEN initiative to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people. OELLEN is currently overseen by a Board of Directors which is representative of the region. The core objective of a LLEN is to improve participation, engagement, attainment and transition outcomes for young people 10 to 19 years old within its geographic boundaries. A LLEN also has a particular focus on those young people who are at risk of disengaging or who have already disengaged from education and training and are not in meaningful employment.
