Otibara (formerly OTB Consult) is a senior-led sustainability consultancy founded in Lebanon in 2014 and based in Hazmieh. Every assignment has one senior lead from scoping to sign-off, backed by a specialist bench of mechanical, electrical, civil and environmental engineers and trainers. We are independent: no equipment sales, commissions or contractor ties. We work across eight areas: energy efficiency and audits; renewable energy, including solar PV, PV-diesel hybrid systems and solar water pumping; green building and EDGE certification; sustainable cooling and refrigerant management; GHG, ESG and climate compliance; water and waste; policy and strategy; and training and capacity development, in English and Arabic. We design for real conditions, including sites that run on grid, generators and rooftop solar at once. Our clients are UN agencies, development finance institutions, ministries, municipalities, NGOs and private developers across the Middle East and Africa, including UNDP, UNICEF, IFC, GIZ, ILO, EBRD, Mercy Corps and World Vision. Work led by our principal and team has delivered 3,009 kWp of renewable capacity, saved 610,376 MWh of energy and avoided 430,081 tCO2, alongside 23 policies and 1,601 professionals trained. Assignments range from single-building audits and EDGE certification to national cooling plans, solar programmes for health and water facilities, and corporate GHG reporting. Our work is led by Nader Hajj Shehadeh, Executive Director and Principal Consultant, in energy and climate since 2007. He is a CEM, CMVP and CEA, an ISO 14064 Lead Auditor and WELL AP, and an EDGE Auditor, IFC EDGE Faculty and ISO 50001 Lead Auditor.
