Vi bidrar till samhällsutvecklingen Alla kommer fram smidigt, grönt och tryggt. Det är Trafikverkets vision - en vision som innebär att vi ska skapa förutsättningar för ett robust och effektivt transportsystem som är energieffektivt och säkert. Samtidigt ska vi säkerställa att trafikanter och transportörer har goda möjligheter att genomföra sina resor och transporter. Trafikverket ansvarar för den samlade långsiktiga infrastrukturplaneringen av vägtrafik, järnvägstrafik, sjöfart och luftfart. I vårt uppdrag ingår också byggande, drift och underhåll av statliga vägar och järnvägar. Vi är samhällsutvecklare som planerar för helheten i det samlade transportsystemet. För att samhället ska kunna utvecklas, måste transporterna fungera. Ökad tillgänglighet blir allt viktigare. Vårt uppdrag innebär att det är vi som dagligen ser till att vägar och järnvägsspår är framkomliga, att mötesfria vägar anläggs, att järnvägsstationer handikappanpassas, att kombiterminaler utvecklas, att resenärer och trafikanter får snabb och relevant trafikinformation, att förarprov för körkort utförs och allt annat som krävs för att förvalta och utveckla smart infrastruktur. Målet är ett tillgängligt och säkert transportsystem som tar hänsyn till miljö och hälsa. För att nå målet behöver vi arbeta nära tillsammans med övriga samhället. Tillsammans kan vi underlätta livet i hela Sverige.
