OSMO is a non-profit foundation established in 2009 by Montreal entrepreneurs to help grow the local startup community with an open, inspiring and collaborative approach — named in the spirit of Osmosis, the biological process of absorption and exchange. OSMO’s mission is to support the growth, development and global reach of Montreal startups ensuring our city climbs the top 20 Global Startup Ecosystem Rankings. OSMO acts as a hub, cultivating entrepreneurial “collisions” across all sectors from startup founders and academia to investors and corporations. The first project saw the renovation of physical space and beacon for entrepreneurship – Notman House, followed by the OSMO Café. OSMO took part in the inception of organizations such as Innocité like the Montreal Startup Ecosystem Report, TechAide for Centraide and the Montreal Startup Community Awards.
