Subterraneos de Buenos Aires S.E. (SBASE), is a firm wholly owned by the Buenos Aires City Government, in its start mission included operations of the current system, expansion design project and construction, ditto for new lines. Actually operation and subsequent roles are in hands of a concessionaire the rest of activities remain the same, plus a new one Concession Control. The current network comprises 6 lines, there are under construction at this moment two expansions (each one in a different line) and a completion of part of the newest line, the systems carries above 1.5 Million pax per working day, the fleet size is around 600 EMUs, unfortunatly from very different ages and manyfacturers.
