Our desire is to carry on the good work, goals and vision that Randy Moore birthed in our hearts and the hearts of thousands of young singers through his tireless years of love and service to the Oregon Children's Choir, it's directors and choristers. Thank you, Randy! Founded in January 1982 by Dr. Randall Moore, the Oregon Children's Choir has grown from one ensemble to seven. The Junior Girlchoir is for 2nd-5th graders, and Junior Boychoir is for advanced elementary age boys. The Girlchoir consists of 5th-8th graders, and the Boychoir is for choristers 6th through 8th grade. The Young Women's Choir and the Young Men's Ensemble members are high school students. The purpose of the Choir is to nurture the artistic talents of children by providing training in music skills, musicianship, and advanced choral work to talented youth in the Eugene/Springfield area. Students are selected through open auditions in cooperation with school music programs. The Choir has earned high acclaim through local, regional, national, and international performances: The Oregon Bach Festival; The Eugene Gleemen; The Eugene Opera, Symphony, Ballet, and Concert Choir; The Music Educators state and division conferences; the International Society for Music Education's World Congress; at Disneyland and the Hollywood Bowl; and in Italy, Canada, Wales, England, Austria, France, Czechoslovakia and China.
