ORBICAP Information

ORBICAP is a specialist consultancy focused on official statistics, statistical governance, quality management and institutional development. The company has worked with public-sector organisations and statistical institutions on issues including statistical capacity, quality frameworks, governance, methodological development and the modernisation of statistical production. ORBICAP AB was founded in 2025 by Joakim Malmdin, a senior statistician and public-sector leader with extensive experience from Statistics Sweden, Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi and international advisory work. From August 2026, ORBICAP AB is operationally dormant and is not accepting new consultancy assignments, following Joakim Malmdin’s return to Swedish public administration as Head of Unit for Judicial Statistics at the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå).
