Newark Public Schools is the largest and one of the oldest school systems in New Jersey, with origins dating back to 1676. Currently, NPS has 66 schools serving 37,853 students. With a focus on creating high quality schools through innovative reform efforts, NPS has an incredible opportunity to transform the school system into one that ensures that all of its students graduate to succeed in the college or career of their choice.
In order to meet our students’ needs, we need people who can drive and support unprecedented levels of student achievement. NPS employees must be relentless in their drive to achieve success for all students. In return, NPS empowers talent by providing the resources and support needed to succeed.
We need talent that:
1. Believes all students can achieve at high levels
2. Grows diverse teams
3. Are reflective and actively seek opportunities to grow
4. Innovates the previously unthinkable
5. Effectively communicates with others
6. Treats all people with respect and dignity
7. Knows their content and gets things done

In partnership with the community, we welcome our children to a supportive, multicultural educational environment. The Passaic Public School District demands excellence in teaching and learning and prepare studentsfor further learning and productive employment in the 21st century.
A pioneer in the magnet school concept, Montclair has, for over 30 years, offered parents a choice of school best suited to their child's individual talents and needs. Some, for instance, emphasize arts and science; others feature science and technology or visual and performing arts. (See links to programs in individual schools in the navigation bar, at left.) Yet all Montclair schools follow the same basic curriculum, a rigorous educational program that not only meets, but exceeds, the New Jersey core content standards.
