Apex Optics was founded to provide training and support for fiber optic applications in the harsh environment. And to provide custom products, tooling, test equipment, and the additional training if needed to successfully implement these systems. Industries, such as petrochemical, mining, security, and many others are poised to harness the full potential of fiber optics to carry broadband data and exploit its unique capabilities as a sensing element for the detection of temperature, pressure acoustic, and other measurements in ways that were formerly impossible. Although the technologies to perform these tasks are well known and have been demonstrated to be an invaluable asset to industry, the engineering to integrate them into specific applications has not kept pace. In general, fiber optic companies have not seen the volume needed to justify the development and testing of custom designed cables connectors and support electronics to bring them to market.
