About Patrick Ward and Optimum Sports Performance Patrick Ward is a strength and conditioning coach and licensed massage therapist. With over a decade of experience, he has worked with athletes of all levels from high school state champions to professional and Olympic athletes, and has consulted for collegiate and professional teams. Patrick’s philosophy on training centers around three main tenets – move well, manage stress, and get fit. He has developed a unique methodology combining the evidence-based application of physiology, movement science and soft tissue therapy with emerging technologies. Using this holistic approach to performance improvement and guided by a passion for education and discovery, Patrick helps athletes achieve peak performance and reduce risk of injury. He has emerged as a key player and influential figure in the field, highly regarded by peers and professional organizations. He is often invited to speak and lead hands-on workshops at industry events by NSCA, Boston Sports Medicine & Performance Group, Okanagan Strength & Conditioning, Seattle Sounders, and various other universities and professional teams. He has also assisting in teaching Neuromuscular Therapy Courses to massage therapists, physical therapists, and chiropractors, with Judith DeLany through the Neuromuscular Therapy Center. After beginning his career in New York City, he founded Optimum Sports Performance in 2006 in Phoenix, AZ, and currently resides in Portland, OR.
