openhack - coding for humanity Information

Openhack is a social company and collaborative community creating solutions to pressing societal & humanitarian challenges through open source development. Our virtual and physical hackathons serve as the foundation of our community where innovations are sparked to life. This is where we bring futurists, policymakers, aid organizations, civil society representatives and industry experts to work together. Since being founded in 2015 as a non-profit project under Engineers Without Borders (EWB), Openhack has grown to become a social company and have organized 11 humanitarian-themed hackathons, each with over 100 registered participants from all over Sweden & the Nordics. We have collaborated with over 30 humanitarian organisations and worked on over 60 challenges. In 2016 we got awarded the title "Digital Inspirer of the year, 2016" by IDG Sweden.
