Openbucks is a payment gateway that enables online merchants to accept cash and retailer gift cards as a form of payment from consumers who do not use bank accounts or credit cards to transact online. Founded in 2010, we envision a world where online payments are affordable, safe and available to the millions of consumers who are excluded from e-commerce because they do not use credit cards or bank accounts. Openbucks services over 2,000 merchants directly such as BigPoint, Plarium, Razer, Wargaming and more or via payment service providers and aggregators such as Xsolla and Paymentwall, G2APay and more. With zero chargebacks to the merchant and no fees to the consumer, we are the most convenient alternative payment solution in the U.S. From a merchant checkout, the customer simply selects ‘Pay with Cash and Gift Cards’. The customer is redirected to the Openbucks payment platform to select the gift card they want to use (i.e. CVS) and enters the card / PIN number when prompted. Cards are redeemed in real time with the retail issuer and instantly validated by Openbucks with a 100% no chargeback, no fraud guaranteed. There are also options for the user to load cash in-store (i.e. MoneyGram service locations) to redeem on the merchant checkout via Openbucks. Integration can be done via hosted checkout, using a merchant API, direct API, or via shopping cart plugins (WooCommerce, Magento and more). Openbucks was acquired by Paysafe in 2020.
