The Open Party has been designed with one aim - to make democracy better. We believe the talent and experience to lead rests not in the narrow confines of party membership, but in the breadth of the whole population. We are open to everyone. Our candidates come from the public, not from the party. This means we can search the whole of society for the best - the whole pool, not just the 1.5% of the UK who are political party members. How We Work: We support local people who wish to stand for election. Through open primaries, the public, not party members, choose The Open Party’s candidates.
