Open Lab is an independent Italian game design and development studio, active since 2001. We design and develop original games, applied games and experimental interactive projects. Our work combines game design, software development, interactive storytelling and research. We are particularly interested in games that make complex subjects playable: from culture and education to health, social issues and participatory experiences. We have created 30+ applied games and our original titles include Football Drama, Roller Drama and Becoming Saint. Alongside our own productions, we collaborate with studios, agencies, universities and cultural organisations on game design, prototyping, development, narrative design and R&D.
