Open Heart Magic Information

Open Heart Magic provides personalized bedside magic visits to young kids and teens in children's hospitals. These unique and specialized visits happen through Bedside Magic® programs that are set up with children’s hospital partners and staffed with the most amazing people ever. These individuals are specially screened, intensely trained and certified to become Hospital Magician volunteers. Open Heart Magic (OHM) meets kids where they are, and OHM volunteers work in pediatric intensive care, in-patient cancer units, immunocompromised isolation rooms, burn units, and wherever else kids are fighting for their health. Partnering with several top children’s hospitals across the Midwest, OHM volunteers use and teach magic to reduce stress and fear in young patients, make them laugh again, help them feel stronger, and turn the corner in getting better.
