Open Future Coalition Information

Open Future Coalition (OFC) builds the social, technical, and financial infrastructure for community-led solutions to thrive. We develop shared tools, networks, and capital pathways that help local organizations coordinate, measure, and resource their impact—allowing communities to define and direct their own futures. Founded in 2021, OFC grew from two decades of systems design and social impact work bridging technology, finance, and community development. Our flagship initiative, the Open Impact platform, connects regional networks, nonprofits, and social enterprises in more than 70 countries through shared tools for coordination, storytelling, measurement, and resource mobilization. Our global network spans hundreds of organizations—from Indigenous land stewards in the Amazon and agroecology practitioners in Borneo to Black and cooperative farmers in the rural U.S. South—advancing regenerative solutions that restore ecosystems, localize economies, and build self-determined resilience. Yet many of these communities still lack the shared tools, data systems, and early-stage financing needed to scale their impact. OFC addresses this gap through an integrated model pairing digital infrastructure with field-building, programmatic engagement, and deep regional partnerships. Supported by the Open Impact platform, our practitioner community connects organizations, funders, and researchers to coordinate projects, share measurable outcomes, and exchange best practices. Through initiatives like the Regional Resilience Fellowship, we help partners deploy tools for coordination, measurement, and storytelling while fostering peer learning and cross-sector collaboration. Our regional co-development efforts establish lasting infrastructure for regenerative action as we grow tools with and alongside a growing ecosystem of communities defining and directing their own futures of resilience, equity, and shared prosperity.
