Oo-mami Information

When I was 3, my family immigrated from Yunnan, China. Growing up as 1st generation, I felt embarrassed by my culture and hid where we came from. That all changed when I set out to record my mom’s home recipes. Cooking with her brought us closer together and made me proud to be Asian American. Her scallion pancakes recipe were the first one she taught me—her way of saying “I love you.” I believe we all deserve to be taken care of. Food is how my mom cared for me, and it’s how I want to care for others. That’s why I started Oo-mami.
