Beyond is where the University of Waterloo and the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) begins…
At the School of Accounting and Finance, we go beyond these disciplines, to create value in interdisciplinary thinking, research, and collaboration. Beyond the classroom to preparing multifaceted future financial professionals whose unique perspectives deliver ingenuity, value, and leadership in different fields. Beyond research to thought leadership that shapes industry and global perspectives to lead the professions forward.
The SAF was designed to be different. Our strategic integration of disciplines, impact-driven research, co-op and experiential education, and entrepreneurial spirit has made us one of the most relevant, connected, and innovative schools for financial professionals in the world. By encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration, we cultivate unique perspectives and technical skillsets that create value through analysis, foresight, and funding.
Our people and partners take us beyond the technical, to integrate the fields of accounting and finance through rigorous analysis, keen foresight and courageous decision-making. Inspiring and empowering perspectives and expertise that lead to global impact.
SAF has a history of being first – come see what we do next.
The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within our Indigenous Initiatives Office.
At Queen’s University’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, the world’s problems are our adrenalin, provoking our relentless drive to explore, decode, and reframe. We blend curiosity with a cross-disciplinary approach to ask, “what if?”, forging ahead to find solutions for the 21st century and beyond. We ask not only how to build and construct better structures, but how to speed the flow of information, protect the natural environment, propel medical progress, and eliminate the gap between what is and what can be.
