ONFI is a subsidiary of the French National Forestry Office (ONF), created to promote the French forestry "know-how" overseas. ONFI has been providing expertise, technical assistance or training for over 20 years in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. ONFI works with scientific and technical partners, donors, private clients, governments, NGOs and the ONF, its parent company. ONFI's expertise covers a wide range of areas: - Natural forest management - Plantations (forestry and agroforestry) - Climate change mitigation and adaptation (REDD+ and CDM projects) - Mapping and remote sensing, including the use of satellite imagery to monitor forest cover - Prevention and management of natural risks - Protected areas/ecotourism - Integrated landscape management - Biomass energy.
