Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) began in 2003 as a grassroots effort to provide care and comfort items to the hospital bedsides of wounded service members returning home from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than two decades later, Wounded Warrior Project is the nation's leading veteran service organization, focused on the total well-being of post-9/11 veterans.
Keeping the promise to care for our nation’s veterans requires the expertise and energy of a diverse and committed team. We build and lead programs that help warriors find purpose and thrive. We provide essential lifelines to families and caregivers. We advocate tirelessly with policymakers. We raise awareness to celebrate the service and honor the sacrifice of all veterans.
The support of generous donors and corporate partners allows us to provide programs at no cost to warriors and their families. Talented WWP teammates across the country work together to ensure that no warrior is left behind. Together, we're changing the way our nation cares for veterans for generations to come.
CCK's Mission: Inspiring families, empowering children, and enhancing the lives of those living with disabilities.
We operate solely on donations and 100% of every dollar raised is used to impact the campers we serve.
The Center for Courageous Kids offers medically-diagnosed children and their families a safe and inclusive space to build relationships and have fun. With 24/7 medical coverage, our Camp Nurses ensure that campers are receiving the proper care that they need to be their best selves at camp.
We employ approximately 30 year round staff who work as a team to recruit campers and volunteers, fundraise, coordinate special events, maintain the facility and grounds, develop programming, provide medical supervision, etc.
We also employ part-time staff, such as:
Summer Counselors & Interns
Kitchen Stewards
Barn Assistants
Maintenance Assistants
Housekeeping Assistants
Volunteer roles are also availalbe!
Team River Runner (TRR), a 501c3 non-profit organization, gives active duty service members, veterans, and their families an opportunity to find health, healing, and new challenges through kayaking, whitewater boating, SUP and other paddlesports. The benefits of TRR have as much to do with creating a social network and support system as they do with learning water sports skills that provide an exciting adventure lifestyle that suddenly seemed lost due to injury. The program also encourages family members to participate whenever possible.
TRR accomplishes its goals through a step-by-step approach in which paddlers learn to control a kayak in a pool, and then move to open water: rivers, lakes and oceans, where they gain additional experience and skills. Once they have mastered the basics, local chapters take participants on paddling trips to challenge and improve skills. TRR also organizes trips to more progressively challenging venues in Colorado, Montana, Florida, USVI and Mexico. Leadership training is provided so that wounded warriors can take their growing adventure skills home to share with veterans in their community.
TRR has Local Chapters across the country. If there is not a TRR Chapter in your area, please Contact Us at our national office in Washington D.C.
Our tax-id number is 20-3838651 and all donations are fully deductible. Happy Paddling!
