Onda Solidaria Information

Onda Solidaria is a NGO certified in Brazil as a civil society and public interest organization (OSCIP), operating since 2010 both in Rio de Janeiro and in the village of Santana do Deserto, in the state of Minas Gerais (2 hours of car from Rio de Janeiro). Onda Solidaria's goal is to use sport, and other artistic, professional and environmental activities as a tool for social inclusion for children from underprivileged communities. Through football courses, the NGO aims to democratize the practice of sport in the favela and in the village of Santana do Deserto and to occupy the free time of children and young people. We believe that sport is closely linked to the transformation of the individual, which we have been developing since the creation of the NGO, actions and socio-sports projects in various Brazilian communities. Through educational activities with our "transformação" project, our children are able to discover their talents and passions, but also develop new skills. They can also get a better idea of the working market and the efforts needed to follow their dream. Finally, we took into consideration the environmental aspect and decided to connect all our actions to nature. This is the reason why we are currently building an ecological centre in Santana Do Deserto, Minas Gerais. In Vila Dos Sonhos, our children always connect to nature while training, playing and learning. They get a deep awareness on environmental matters and our goal is to change behaviors in the communities in which we intervene.
