Our talented instructors are of the most skilled on the South Shore with current and innovative teaching methods for a variety of different levels of dancers. Introductory classes start as young as 18 months and we have classes for all abilities up to age Adult. Our conveniently located studio facility remains the Go-To Centre for Dance on the South Shore since 2012. On Tap Dance Studio is undoubtedly the place where Elite Feet Meet! Where did we get our name? On Tap was a tap and musical theatre only dance school in New Jersey owned and operated by Broadway Veteran David J.V. Meenan. David mentored On Tap's current owner, Shannon Moore, and passed down the name as did his Vaudevillian predecessors. How long have we been in business? The "new" On Tap opened it's doors in September of 2012 and will be entering its seventh official year in business this upcoming September. Owner, Shannon Moore, has been teaching dance for over 15 years. What do we stand for? Providing a well-rounded dance education for both competitive and recreational dancers is of utmost importance. We strive to give children and adults alike the most versatile teachers and classes possible on the South Shore. Each of our teachers are very strong in their own specialties, and can hold their own in all other styles of dance. We pride ourselves in having small class sizes and a full schedule, so students have different opportunities to learn many styles of dance during the week with the proper attention and care needed for a solid dance background. What else should I know? On Tap has an award winning competitive team called "Magic" which is always looking for new participants. We compete in Halifax and Moncton at some of the best amateur competitions. We participate with Pro Kids and Jumpstart to make tuition more affordable and also offer scholarships and bursaries. On Tap also offers an Intensive Training Program with a focus on Ballet And Exam Studies through the Canadian Dance Teachers' Association and a variety of Adult and Children's classes and workshops for all levels of dance training, in addition to pre-school and introductory dance though Twinkle Star Dance.
