Deerfield Valley Community Partnership Vision: The Partnership is a group of adult and youth volunteers who meet monthly. This group includes youth, teachers, police officers, parents, business owners, civic group representatives, health care representatives, and other concerned community members. DVCP monthly meetings are held at Twin Valley High School on the third or fourth Monday of each month from 5:30-7:30pm. Please see our meeting calendar for dates. Meetings include a catered dinner, the hearing of reports on recent activities, committee work, brainstorming new ideas, and educational presentations. What we hope to accomplish: Increase the number of young adults, middle and high school students who are involved in healthy, drug free activities. Increase knowledge of harmful effects of drugs & alcohol. Raise community awareness of alcohol, tobacco and other drug issues. Increase parenting skills and knowledge of appropriate ways to deal with teen behavior. Increase the number of parents and adults participating in healthy activities with young people.

The Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Programs of Franklin County (UMADAOPFC) provides alcohol , tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) education and prevention services using evidence-based, culturally speci?c, and age appropriate strategies for the African American community, including reentry and wraparound services. Our Mission is to create healthy communities in Franklin County. Since 1985, we have partnered with a wide array of service providers, businesses, schools, and other organizations and agencies to insure our community is being provided with sufficient resources that are culturally relevant in order to build healthy, productive, drug free lifestyles. Most low-income residents we serve have needs that go beyond what even large social service agencies can offer. We help them navigate these systems because it is difficult for a struggling family to learn how each service or program works, with many families giving up before they even access a service. Through the years, we have found that the most important asset residents have is themselves. Once they believe they can overcome what many may feel are insurmountable obstacles, they will have the necessary energy and fortitude to be successful. In addition, UMADAOPFC provides professional development and ATOD prevention training to social service agencies, schools, and other community organizations and professionals helping Franklin County youth. Workshops and professional development offerings are tailored to the needs of each individual or organization. We are a certified prevention agency from the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services (OHMAS). It is a rigorous process designed to ensure agencies are providing professional, ethical, and culturally competent prevention services that are evidenced-based. Our staff has been trained to serve this specific demographic population. We currently receive funding from the Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Board of Franklin County.
