From humble beginning at Takapuna's Sunday market selling her latest clothing and jewellery designs, director Tara Kim opened her first store in Lorne St in 2009 and now has two Auckland boutiques. Named after Tara's daughter, Olivia, the brand is truly a family story, with the designer's family having been in the textile industry in Korea for three generations. Tara says that with OLIVIA she honours her heritage and represents the best of creative Korean/New Zealand fashion to the world. Many of the underground labels of the Dongdaemoon fashion wholesale market in Seoul are represented on the shelves of Olivia, with garments and accessories manufactured in reputable factories in Korea.
