The Olfaxis OGM2, and next generation OGM3, are the first, portable olfactory neurophysiological recording systems. These devices offer a new, patent- pending odorant generation and neural recording system capable of characterizing neural processing disorders from the olfactory nerve (cranial nerve 1) to the brain cortices using EEG measures ideally suited to serve as biomarkers for mTBI. Measurement of olfactory evoked potentials (OEPs) requires delivery of highly-controlled odorant stimuli. Olfaxis patent-pending Odorant Generation Module technology creates the ideal stimuli for measuring OEPs and cortical odorant event-related potentials. The 1020 electrode system is an internationally recognized method to describe and apply the location of scalp electrodes in the context of an EEG exam. This method was developed to standardize measurement methods to ensure that a patients study outcomes (clinical or research) can be compiled, reproduced, and effectively analyzed and compared. In the context of assessing mTBI, standard electrode locations aid in the localization of response abnormalities.
