Okuh Studios was born in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia during the warm summer months of 2014. Originally it began as a bedroom side project by Mackinlay Smith while working a corporate life in the fashion industry. After 9 years plying his trade, bored and frustrated by the restraints and politics of the Corporate fashion world Mackinlay designed a small number of Shirts and T-shirts which were soon picked up by global bloggers and streetwear lovers across the globe. The Brand was born and soon caught the imagination of the youth forward fashion movement, from LA to New York, Hong Kong to Tokyo, Melbourne to London, The Okuh movement had begun. Okuh Studios encapsulates the contemporary cues of avant garde streetwear and modern lifestyle Design, Art and Architecture. All designs are defined by Okuh Studios’ attention to detail, quality design and quality production. Now based in the UK, Okuh Studios’ rapidly expanding credibility always aims to keep quality and great design at the heart of the brand - delivering the most exciting elements of youth street culture and fashion forward lifestyle.
