VOA is more than a nonprofit. We are a ministry of service committed to helping build brighter, more resilient futures. Since 1896, we have served communities across the country through hundreds of human service programs, including housing, health care and support for veterans, people experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, individuals returning from incarceration and those in recovery. Today, more than 15,000 professionals and thousands of volunteers help VOA serve people in communities across the country. Our purpose remains the same: providing compassionate care today so communities can flourish tomorrow.

AmeriCorps, a federal agency, brings people together to tackle the country’s most pressing challenges, through national service and volunteering. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers serve with organizations dedicated to the improvement of communities. AmeriCorps helps make service to others a cornerstone of our national culture. Learn more at AmeriCorps.gov. We offer individuals and organizations flexible ways to make a local impact through our programs: State and National, VISTA, NCCC, Foster Grandparents, Senior Companions, RSVP, and Volunteer Generation Fund, along with initiatives including 9/11 and MLK Day of Service.
