Ogen is a pioneering nonprofit social lender dedicated to fostering financial inclusion and opportunity in Israel. Established in 1990 by the late Professor Eliezer David Yaffe, we provide interest-free and low-interest loans, along with expert financial guidance, to low and middle-income Israelis, small businesses, and nonprofits underserved by the financial sector. With a legacy spanning over three decades, Ogen has disbursed over 75,000 life-changing loans, totaling nearly 2 billion NIS. Our credit portfolio, currently valued at 500 million NIS ($131 million), reflects our commitment to creating a fairer and stronger economy for all Israelis. What sets Ogen apart is our holistic approach. Beyond providing credit access, we offer expert financial guidance and tools, backed by a dedicated team of over 1,300 professional mentors who volunteer from across Israel. In collaboration with government ministries, Ogen spearheads initiatives that empower underserved populations to achieve sustainable financial health, homeownership, business and organizational growth, and break free from the cycle of debt.
