Since 1983, Atlantic Offshore Medical Associates has been privileged to develop significant expertise in the provision of medical/occupational health services to offshore installations. This experience has been gained in Atlantic Canada as well as in other parts of the world as AOMA physicians have faced a wide variety of both emergency and non-emergency medical situations unique to offshore work. In the provision of medical services, specific experience counts for at least 50% of the cost of any medical care. Clearly, there is little room for explanations if and when a disaster occurs offshore and the operator of the site has been using inexperienced physicians. AOMA physicians have the experience upon which to draw.
