Offshore Energy Research Association of Nova Scotia Information

The Offshore Energy Research Association (OERA) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that funds and facilitates collaborative offshore energy and environmental research and development including examination of renewable energy resources and their interaction with the marine environment. Our mission is to lead environmental, renewable and geoscience energy research that enables the sustainable development of Nova Scotia energy resources through strategic partnerships with academic, government and industry. Originally incorporated in March 2006 as Offshore Energy Environmental Research Association (OEER) and Offshore Energy Technical Research Association (OETR), in April 2012, the Associations were amalgamated to become Offshore Energy Research Association of Nova Scotia (OERA). OERA’s members include St. Francis Xavier University, Acadia University, Cape Breton University, Saint Mary’s University, Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia Community College and the Nova Scotia Department of Energy. OERA is dedicated to leading environmental, renewable and geoscience energy research that enables the sustainable development of Nova Scotia energy resources through strategic partnerships with academia, government and industry.
