We are dedicated to the mission of improving the status of women locally and internationally. Over the years we have been involved in various programs to help eliminate domestic violence including Safe Passages and Grace House. We have worked with and helped support Jessie's House, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cancer Connection, TapestryHealth, YWCA, Relay For Life, to name a few. We sponsored a public forum that promoted the ratification of CEDAW, working to end discrimination against women. We also help to support Zonta International projects which are often in partnership with UNIFEM, UNICEF or UNESCO. Most of the programs are in developing nations and are selected by the Zonta International Board and approved by Zonta international membership. We also support the Amelia Earhart Fellowship Program which provides postgraduate fellowships in the fields of aeronautics and aeronautical engineering; the Jane M Klausman Scholarship Program which provides college scholarships to women in business; and the Young Women in Public Affairs which offers recognition and scholarships on the club, district and international levels for outstanding young women who are making a difference in their world through service. We support the Smith College Z Club in its efforts to eliminate hunger and poverty. The Zonta Club of Northampton Area holds monthly meetings (the second Wednesday) at the Loft at the Clarion Hotel in Northampton . We have a business meeting, often a speaker and dinner.
