The Ocean County Soil Conservation District participates and promotes many different state-wide environmental programs in New Jersey. Each year, the National Association of Conservation Districts hosts aPoster Contestto students of all ages. The goal of this contest is to promote an understanding of the connection between humans and the Earth, as well as to give students an opportunity to express their creativity. Another state-wide event that the Ocean County Soil Conservation District participates in is the NJ Envirothon. The New Jersey Envirothon is a one day competition where high school students are tested on their practical knowledge of the natural resources available in the state of New Jersey.
