Corporate Electronic Commerce(CEC) was established in 1997 to services the rapid roll-out of EDI Australia. Robin Hodder, former Managing Director had been involved with EDI messaging services for over 25 years when, in the mid 1970's, many industries implemented EDI as a means to achieve more efficient manufacturing timelines and processes. Robin was recognised for his skills and was recruited by several companies eventually ending up with Telstra Multimedia (as it was known then), as Senior Sales Manager, responsible for further developing the market for their TradeLink EDI system. When Telstra disbanded its 'Multimedia' division, Robin saw an opportunity, starting Corporate Electronic Commerce Pty Ltd in April of 1997 continuing to service the rapid rollout of EDI in the Automotive and other industries.
