The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) was created in 1930, by virtue of a presidential decree, to assist the attorney class. Currently, the institution is headquartered in Brasilia and each state has a sectional and subsections, which are located, respectively, in the capital and municipalities of the countryside of each state. Two years after the creation of the National Order, the Bahia Section was established in Salvador on April 11, 1932. The first president of the OAB-BA was Ernesto Sá Bittencourt Câmara. His administration was from 1932-1937, and he was the first associate of the sectional, therefore, owner of the No. 01 portfolio. Currently, OAB-Bahia has 34 subsections in the interior of the state and is under the management of President Fabrício de Castro Oliveira ( 2019-2021).
