The NUWARD SMR is targeting to replace old high CO2-emitting coal, fuel, oil and gas plants around the world as well as offering the capability of supporting other usages such as hydrogen production, urban and district heating or desalination. Based on proven PWR technology, NUWARD SMR aims to become the first European multi-energy platform. NUWARD SMR will be able to produce up to 400 MWe and up to 290 MWth. Led by the NUWARD company, the project relies on the skilled and valued contributions of its European partners.
