Nurses Plus Hospice Information

When the calling to open a hospice had its beginnings nearly 10 years ago for a mother of two, RN of 25 years, and Founder of Nurses Plus, Carmelita Z. Mabini saw a need in the community for compassion in healthcare and a genuine desire to offer ourselves in service towards the greater good. Before Nurses Plus Hospice had lifted off the ground, Carmelita was diagnosed with a terminal condition and given a prognosis of less than six months to live by her doctors. In that time, she devoted her efforts to her family, especially her two young children, Christopher and Jeremy. She helped her kids see the true beauty of family, faith, and living a thankful and purpose-driven life - even until the very end. Despite Carmelita’s conceit to cancer in 2005, she passed on something special to her children - The means to spread good acts of kindness, generosity and compassion to others in need. To treat others like family. Today, her two children, along with the help of an amazing team at Nurses Plus Hospice, passionately continue Carmelita’s mission and purpose to positively affect the lives of others by advocating for quality-of-life through the spirit and philosophy of compassion and lifelong learning.
