NUCLEO Information

Nucleo is a music for social action programme combining a community project in North Kensington working with over 350 young musicians, and national work established by Sistema England - including the Instrument Donation Bank and Young Leaders Programme. Nucleo in North Kensington gives children and young people the opportunity to learn an instrument as part of an orchestra, completely free of charge. Students attend 4-6 days a week, and through their participation they develop not only musically, but also in the many other social, personal and intellectual ways that musical study, teamwork and the pursuit of excellence can facilitate. Nucleo's Instrument Donation Bank receives unused or unwanted instruments and redistributes them to students who need them around the country. Nucleo's Young Leaders Programme brings together remarkable young change-makers from around the country to build a musical community that exemplifies the ideals of music for social change.
